All you need to bring is your sense of adventure!
We're offering you the chance to get hands on and look inside a real live beehive in Newcastle NSW.
Learn about the importance of bees to food production.
Wow your friends with fun new bee facts.
Get suited up and open a beehive, meet a Queen bee and hold a frame of honey.
Arrive by 9.45am for morning tea.
Tour starts at 10am sharp.
Finish off with a taste of local honey.
Bring your kids, your spouse, your best friend or a date. Bee suits will be provided, all you need to bring is your sense of fun and adventure!
Tours run the third Saturday of the month and selected weekdays or by appointment.

Discover the amazing world of honeybees
FAMILY FRIENDLY HIVE TOURS
Bring the whole family together for a fun and exciting close up look at the inner workings of a honey bee hive. Suit up young and old to spot a queen bee, hold a frame of bees and honey and learn fun bee facts. Enjoy a delicious morning tea and local honey tasting. This tour is suitable for children aged 5 and up. Bee suits will be provided, all you need to bring is your sense of fun and adventure!

TWO HOUR HIVE TOURS
Ever wanted to look inside a beehive and see a honey bee colony in action. Book a spot in a hive tour, suit up to look under the hood of a hive with Apiarist Kelly for a unique insider experience. Join us for a two-hour beehive tour. The tour includes a talk all about the amazing world of honeybees followed by gearing up to get hands on with working hives in our one of our Teaching Apiaries.

PRIVATE TOUR
Looking for a tour just for you and your date or small family group. Enjoy an intimate experience on your very own private hive tour for 2-4 people as we explore the inner workings of a honey bee hive. Suit up to spot a queen bee, hold a frame of bees and honey. Enjoy a delicious morning tea and local honey tasting.

BEE SCHOOL
Have you been keeping bees for a little while and now have some questions about more advanced hive management.
This half day course will cover various skills including swarm management and what to do if your hive is queen less and requeening. The course will have both theoretical and practical components. Participants are encouraged to email questions prior to the course to ensure we cover your needs.
The course fee includes morning tea and the equipment you will need for the day.
BEGINNERS WORKSHOP
Introduction to Backyard Beekeeping
This one-day beekeeping course in Newcastle will get you started on your journey to becoming a beekeeper. Learn about bees and bee behaviour. Find out what type of hive suits you. Perfect if you already have a flow hive, or if you are still looking which hive is best for you. Learn the basic skills needed to care for your colony. Includes all tools you will need for the day. Look inside a working beehive. Experience honey extraction and taste honey from different hives.
